How to import a wrap into your Tesla (Paint Shop, 2026 edition)

You downloaded a PNG from WrapForge — here is how to get it onto the car through the mobile app or a USB drive, plus what to check when the import fails.

After you download a PNG from WrapForge, the last step is importing it into Paint Shop. It takes about two minutes with either official method.

Check three things first

  1. Canvas size matches your vehicle: Model 3 / Model Y / Model S / Model X are 1024×1024, Cybertruck is 1024×768. Files from WrapForge are already exported per model — no manual resizing needed.
  2. Each file must be ≤ 1MB or the car rejects it. WrapForge downloads are already compressed.
  3. Filename ≤ 30 characters, using only letters, digits, spaces, dashes or underscores.

Method 1: mobile app (up to 10 wraps)

  1. Open the Tesla mobile app and connect to your car.
  2. Go to Toybox → Paint Shop → Wraps.
  3. Choose to import from your photo library and pick the PNG you downloaded.
  4. Confirm the preview on the vehicle touchscreen.

Method 2: USB drive (up to 10 wraps)

  1. Format the drive as FAT32.
  2. Create a folder named exactly Wraps in its root.
  3. Drop the PNGs in — do not rename them.
  4. Plug the drive into the car, then open Toybox → Paint Shop → Wraps and import.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Fix
File not listed on the car Canvas size doesn't match the model Re-download for the correct vehicle
Import rejected File over 1MB or bad filename Download the original again; avoid re-compressed copies from chat apps
Black bars / misaligned panels Template made for a different model Wrap templates are not cross-model; pick one for your exact vehicle
Stretched artwork File was cropped or resized manually Use the downloaded PNG as-is

Note: Paint Shop keeps at most 10 custom wraps per car — delete an old one to make room.
